Welcome

MY PATH AND MY WORK

Are you ready to change the ending to your story?

I have been working with clients since 2018 to build my practice. It's a unique blend of healing modalities that is firmly rooted in narrative theory. I don't think rehashing your past is enough to change your future, but by owning your story you: break down generational cycles/traumas, release old wounds, and gain better perspective on what needs to be changed in your habits, routines and behaviours that have you locked into negative health outcomes. Finding balance between resting, working, and moving your body for joy is hard when you are experiencing fatigue, brain fog, concentration issues, trauma responses, addictive patterns etc. I firmly believe most people have it in them to change habits and patterns, but that requires getting to know real, authentic you and what you need out of life.

I was a miserable child and teenager. I grew up in a chaotic, aggressive home environment. My stomach hurt often, I never slept well, I was scared and anxious a lot, but I was an amazing student and a girl so a lot of my troubles were swept under the rug. I spent a lot of my 20s being gaslit by medical providers that any health issues I had would improve if I lost weight. I was morbidly obese and lost enough weight in my early 20s to be in the slightly obese/almost overweight category of the BMI chart. I was still miserable. I had joint and spine pain that had me in tears. My shoulders were frozen into an unnatural position and my pelvis was out of alignment. The smaller I got, the more uncomfortable I was with unwanted attention from men (trauma responses are not fun). I was suffering with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) which meant I had sporadic, unpredictable cycles. When they did show up, they were absolutely brutal. I never officially got an Endometriosis diagnosis but have been told by an OBGYN in my pregnancies to assume I did based on the description of what my cycles are like. I unofficially suffered with Premenstrual Dysphoria Disorder (PMDD) and my partner took the brunt of my mood shifts that were tied to unpredictable cycles. In 2010 when I got the PCOS diagnosis, I was told by my GP and the GYN that diagnosed me that considering my weight and diagnosis, my chances of getting pregnant and carrying to term were slim, that I would need to go down the medical pathway with them to achieve that. What I was being offered didn't sit well with me, I went a more natural way.  Baby 1 arrived in 2012, Baby 2 in 2014, and after 3 early loses, Baby 3 arrived in 2018. Each of these children forced me to heal in different ways, and I am ever grateful for the path that I took that brought these wonderful souls into my care.

In 2019, I started the process of unpacking where trauma stopped and where undiagnosed neurodivergence started. I had argued vehemently with medical providers my entire life that just because something wasn't abnormal or painful for "most" people, didn't mean my experience wasn't valid. Becoming more vocal about being self-diagnosed as Autistic and ADHD (AuDHD) has lead to the confidence to open my practice up to a wider client base in the hopes that this will be my full-time passion (job). Accepting the neurodivergent labels that I have, has made me feel even more justified in the perspective I had decided to work from in my teens:

"I have been working with Miranda for a number of years now. I have really appreciated her perspective that she brings to the table. When processing emotions and past events, it is difficult to navigate alone. She has been able to offer suggestions of exercises or activity that helps you work through the area you are struggling with."

Let me help you change the path you are on!

I have watched people:

  • Not need surgery that had been on the books for over 2 years because their symptoms reversed completely

  • Have successful pregnancies that were conceived naturally and carried full term after multiple losses or years of infertility

  • Reverse long term physical damage - to the amazement of their medical providers

  • Have chronic illness symptoms lessen and be better managed

  • Have negative physical health patterns not repeat

  • Have better, more meaningful connections with themselves and their loved ones

And I would love to see these results replicate in a wider client base.
